Then you have come to the right place. On this page I'll talk about the most common mistakes that people make when they feel tired. You will learn why coffee, energy drinks, and even more sleep are not the answer. And finally, I will tell you how I got rid of tiredness once and for all
I hope this information will help you do the same...
But first, let me introduce myself. My name is Andrew H. Barton and, like you, I used to have problems with tiredness – I was always tired and I had no idea why or what to do about it.
Getting up in the mornings was always a nightmare. I felt like a zombie, staggering around the house with my eyes half opened. My brain was ‘in a fog’ and I wasn't able to function until I got my hands on that first cup of coffee. But even that didn't make me feel better for long…
But what made it even worse, was looking at my co-workers all cheery and smiling, making jokes, while I was just sitting there, always tired. I felt like I was unable to live my life the way it should be lived. I was just getting through my days, one by one, without the energy to truly enjoy myself. I was always tired and so my social life was at its lowest; my relationship with my girlfriend was slowly falling apart…, and I knew I had to do something.
I really feel like a fool when I'm writing this. I can't believe all the mistakes I did when trying to relieve my tiredness. I tried all the ‘common sense’ things people will tell you to do and all of them just made me feel worse. It's really hard to believe how clueless I was regarding tiredness, especially as I think of myself as a bit of an expert, now…
You see, even thought I used to be always tired, my life looks something like this now:
In the morning I wake up without using an alarm clock – I don't need it anymore (and I never oversleep). I open my eyes and I feel completely rested and at ease. It's a great feeling and I get up easily, as I'm actually looking forward to the day ahead.
When I go to work, I see people on the subway, sitting there all red-eyed and yawning and I can't believe I used to be just like them. At work, my problems with concentration are gone and I finish all my tasks much quicker than I used to. This even gives me some extra time to chat to my co-workers and actually enjoy my work hours.
When I come back home, I don't head directly to the couch anymore. It's hard to believe how much time I used to spend there, half sleeping, half watching some stupid TV show I wasn't even interested in. Now, I feel alive and full of energy, so I can use up my spare time. I can take my girlfriend out to dinner or to the movies, I play with my dog, or go out with my friends. I don't even worry if I'm gonna stay out late, as I don't need as much sleep as I used to…
Now, I'm sure you'll agree, that's what life should be like. Tiredness was holding me back for years and I can't believe how I managed to live like that…
But before I stray to far away from the topic, let's get back to…
I made my first mistake when I started drinking large amounts of coffee. That's probably something that most people try (especially if they're always tired) and it's perfectly understandable. We all know that coffee will wake us up, right? So why would this be a mistake?
Well, the first thing you should know is that the effects of coffee (and other stimulants, such as energy drinks or energy pills) do not last. Sure, you'll get a boost of energy (at least for a little while), but when the effects wear off, you'll feel worse than before. But hey, I know what you're thinking, you can always have another cup or coffee, right. And then another… and another…
But the thing that you probably don't know is that too much coffee will actually make you feel more tired. It won't happen right away, it can take weeks, sometimes even months, but all that coffee will eventually hurt you. It can even cause iron deficiency anemia or vitamin B deficiency, both of which will make you feel much, much more tired than before.
In my case, this was the result… I was still always tired, just a little bit more than before, AND, as a bonus, I've developed a caffeine addiction.
The second problem with stimulants (such as coffee, energy drinks, energy pills, caffeinated drinks, etc.) is that, since they temporarily relieve the symptoms of tiredness, they will allow you to live your life without doing anything about your condition.
So, you'll be able to ignore the fact that you're always tired. But that's not what you should be doing – not at all! You see the fact is that…
If you're always tired, you should not ignore it! If you do, it can lead to various dangerous conditions, such as heart disease, abdominal pain, incontinence, constipation, diarrhea, complicated pregnancy, and many more.
But not only that, if you ignore your tiredness and keep pushing your body to its limits and beyond, you can eventually damage your whole immune system and endanger your general health
Now I'm not saying that you shouldn't drink coffee. Not at all. I'm still drinking it, every day. What I'm saying is this:
Do not ignore your tiredness!
Really don't! If you're always tired, you have to act! Now!
Next, I tried the obvious – sleeping. I started sleeping for 10-12 hours per day. And I thought, surely, this will work.
And you know what, it did – but only on some days. There were days, when I actually woke up feeling good. Well sure, it wasn't the same ‘fresh and full of energy’ feeling that I get now, but it was OK. But then there were other mornings when I still woke up completely exhausted. I couldn't figure it out. Why was this happening?
Well, here's the answer…
The most important thing you should know about sleep is that how much you sleep is not that important. Really, it's not! If you're always tired, what you should do is focus on the quality of sleep – that's what's really important. But here's the question…
How do you raise the quality of sleep? How do you stop waking up feeling more tired than you were when you went to bed?
Well… the answer is… Sleep Cycles!
You probably don't know what I'm talking about, and that's OK. Some time ago, I too, had no idea what these sleep cycles are or that you can actually use them to wake up refreshed each morning…
Sleep is complicated. More so than most people realize. In fact, even the world's best scientists were unable to figure it our completely. Not yet, anyway. See what happens, is that when you fall asleep, your brain doesn't switch out. Quite the contrary – during the night you brain remains very active. It has to complete a number of different processes and it goes through 5 different stages of sleep while doing this – these are called the ‘sleep stages’ (you've probably heard of REM; well, that's a name of one of these stages). All the sleep stages together form, what is known as, a sleep cycle. Your brain will complete a couple of these cycles each night…
But here's the important part: If you wake up in the middle of a sleep cycle, you will feel tired – always. But if you wake up at the end of a cycle, you'll feel fine. Don't believe me? Than tell me if this doesn't sound familiar…
Have you ever woken up in the morning feeling great… but then fall back asleep and woke up later, feeling tired?
This is a common thing, yet most people never give it a second thought. But ask yourself, how is it possible to feel more tired by sleeping more?
Well, now you know the answer – sleep cycles.
OK, so far I've told you a little bit about sleep and a little bit about coffee and other stimulants. And that's all fine, but it's nothing that can really help you right away. The truth is that by talking about these things, I wanted you to realize that even the most obvious things we all think we know about overcoming tiredness can be completely wrong. So the really important thing you should know is this:
That's right, that's why some people are always tired! They are making mistakes, and you know what… so are you!
And yes, sure, these mistakes could be related to sleep, and yes, they could be related to stimulants. But most likely there is a whole variety of small changes you could make that will bring the energy back into your life. Let me give you an example…
Yes, I know there's a lot you'll need to learn. And I know it could all be overwhelming, especially as you probably have no idea where to start. But the fact is that…
I know that, because that's exactly what I did and many others before me. Now the best place to find all this info would be in the book called the End Tiredness Program. This book was created for people like you and me, people who are always tired and have no idea what to do about it.
The End Tiredness Program really is great. It's very easy-to-understand and will not only give you all the information that you need, but will also show you exactly how to put it all into practice. That's what I did – I simply followed the step-by-step instructions and it worked wonders. In a couple of weeks I truly went from ‘always tired’ to being full of energy.
Now I'm not saying that I'm never tired anymore. I am. But when I am, I know exactly why. I understand what I did that made me feel tired AND, more importantly, I know exactly what to do about it. And that's the great thing – I am in control of my tiredness… finally.
If you want to know more about the End Tiredness Program, see what you'll find inside the book, how it works, and why it's so effective, you can visit the End Tiredness Program Homepage.
Trust me, I got rid of tiredness and I'm sure you can too. I wish you all the best.
